THE PROPHITT

The Prophitt is a producer, engineer, and DJ from the DMV. Working as a DJ since he was eight years old, he has performed at hundreds of venues all over the country, including S.O.B.’s in New York City, Millenium Park, and Shubas in Chicago. After moving to Chicago, IL at 18, The Prophitt became emersed in the Chicago Hip Hop community, and his technical prowess quickly made him a staple of the scene.

Producing and mastering everything from songs to albums, the Prophitt met devin., a rapper from Alabama. Together, they created an album known as POTE BABY. Completely produced and mastered by The Prophitt, and written alongside his partner devin., perfomed only a handful of times, the work became an underground sensation.

Now currently operating from his unique creative studio space in upstate New York, The Prophitt's latest release work & progress represents his most ambitious studio work to date - a meticulously crafted universe built from over a year of relentless crate digging through obscure vinyl records, VHS tapes, DVDs, and digital archives. Born from a sudden health scare that temporarily threatened his hearing, the project was fueled by a fierce urgency.

Now fully recovered, The Prophitt channels that vulnerability into a triumphant new chapter. work & progress masterfully blends the dusty, loop-driven nostalgia of J Dilla and Madlib with the fractured, introspective textures of MF DOOM and Earl Sweatshirt, standing as a powerful testament to resilience and creative survival.
